ExperienceAs a special needs teacher, I also have lots of tutoring experience. I can plan lessons based on many factors, including a student's goals and objectives, their common core objectives, and grade level benchmarks. Catering to different styles of learning, I tutor reading, writing, grammar, phonics, literature, and study skills. I also teach history, economics, psychology, and Earth science as well as test prep for exams such as the ACT, ACCUPLACER, COMPASS, and SAT. In addition, I'm Orton Gillingham trained; I believe anyone can do well if they put in the hard work and effort.I've been teaching for eleven years and respect the responsibility that goes along with the job. Any good teaching professional will emphasize this responsibility and hold up to it. I am from Boston and graduated from American International College with a master's in 2012. Also, I am Massachusetts State certified in the area of Moderate Special Needs, English and History. My Liberal Studies bachelor's degree was earned in 1997, when I graduated Westfield State University. I also got a second bachelor's degree (in philosophy) in 2003 from D'Youville College. Now residing in Wilmington, Massachusetts, I love to read, exercise, swim, collect comic books, and spend time with my family.
